16 Weeks Old (Nov 9- 15, 2025)

Ember is 4 months old! She is growing so fast. Almost doubling in size since she arrived. She is 15 &1/4 inch tall at the shoulder and 6.8kg (15lbs).

She had her last set of vaccines this week so in two weeks she will be safe to go anywhere and meet any other doggies. She did fantastic with her vaccine appointment and the vet complimented her tolerance and temperament. We feel lucky to have such a happy and friendly girl.

She now is safe to have bones and she loves them. Her and Phoenix carried forward the tradition of trading the bones back and forth.

Ember and Phoenix do bring out the best in each other. Ember, being so outgoing she is ready to meet anyone and with that Phoenix is more willing to go over to engage. Of course he does this to watch out for his little sister. Phoenix being unfazed about most things like fireworks, appliances, sewing machines etc, I think helps her be confident with new noises. Although he has shared his excitement over paper towels, which she is embracing but she has really set her sights on stealing toilet paper.

We got a new bed for her which she is enjoying. We’ve put it close to Phoenix’s usual nap spot as she likes to be close to her brother when sleeping downstairs.

I dug out the last of the dahlias out of the garden and washed them before they get stored. Ember loved running in the leaves, playing chase with Phoenix and dancing around the water from the hose.

This week Ember got to enjoy some extra pats and a walk with Grandma Colleen who enjoyed her cuddly and boisterous nature.
