9 Months Old (April 19, 2026)
Ember has surprisingly seemed to have kept growing. When we meet people on our walks who haven’t seen us in a bit they are amazed that the bigger one is the puppy. She is happy to greet everyone on our walks but isn’t too offended if they aren’t interested.
She has thoroughly enjoyed when we’ve been out in the front garden and likes to wander around and munch on dandelions. Won’t say no to that.
Recently she has been more interested in toy balls but still only when they are moving so it is more human fetch then dog fetch. Her favorite toy is remains the flirt pole (long pole with a rope that has a stuffed animal attached to the end) as it keeps moving around. Now that the amount of golf balls coming into the yard is increasing, she amuses herself by moving them around the yard and occasionally into the house.
This week the pups got to have a little adventure. The front door didn’t fully latch and a wind gust pushed the door open. We’re not sure if they stayed in the house or were out in the front yard but they happily came out to greet their favourite neighbour and her dog. Of course she was surprised to see them out and the neighbour called Don when she couldn’t find him, which was because he was in town. Luckily, since they adore her she was able to get them follow her into our house and she made sure the door was locked.
In the last while she has started to tap our knee or foot when she would like to have pats or a cuddle.
She likes to be cheeky by grabbing anything that falls on the floor and parading around with it before she drops it, hence the tuperware picture.
In the gallery I’ve put an animation of trying to get their picture together while both are looking at me. It epitomizes her energy and silliness.
