11 Weeks Old (October 4-11, 2025)

Ember was born on July 19, 2025. She is 11 weeks old. Her litter had only 2 puppies. She has a sable coloured sister. Her sister is moving with her family to Switzerland. Ember is considered “oversized”. Shelties need to be under 16 inches at the shoulder fully grown and she is expected to be taller.

Ember is outgoing, playful, smart and happy. She cheerfully meet with all of her grandparents and aunt & uncles. She loves to give kisses especially on ears.

She went to a pebble beach and wasn’t very into the water but wanted every piece of seaweed and stick around.

She travels beautifully in the car and mostly just sleeps. When she is awake she just watches you. She seems wholly comfortable being in the car.

She is food driven which is a change for us. She will eat her kibble out of our hands and will work on obedience tricks. She has “sit” down pat and is mostly reliable for “down”, “touch”, her name and “look”. She does room sweeps to check for any additional missed food and can find something to put in her mouth even though you’ve thoroughly checked there was nothing available.

In traditional sheltie fashion she doesn’t like not being able to follow her people or brother and wants to be in the middle of everything. She will share her opinion at will as expected. She does play follow the ball (the sheltie way) but not fetch

She likes to play with any toys that can have motion especially tug and the flirt pole. She enjoys playing with and being chased by her brother. She gathers her toys onto the giant wolf stuffy to have a chew. She would like to become proficient at chewing shoes but the shoe closet has yet to be breeched.

She came to work to meet with my residents. We visited around the whole building where she got lots of pats and cuddles. She was remained happy and calm throughout the visit.
